British North America (2014) [v. 1]

Description

Let's say there was a plague. The Europeans came to North America and they brought smallpox and all kinds of things to the natives, who, in turn, gave them a plague too. Maybe we would call it Montezuma's Revenge. So, the American Revolution was starved of soldiers and never really took off. The rebels eventually headed west and ended up on the Pacific Coast. The British, busy with wresting the central portion of the continent from the Spanish and the French, and not having a sense of 'manifest destiny', didn't bother with them. They let Spain keep an enclave at St. Augustine, which immediately turned into a gambling and prostitution hotspot and was the subject of many R-rated movies. The lower population density of Europeans and higher survival rate of Native Americans (at least the plains ones) gives them a lot of political power and they're mostly left alone in the central portion of the continent.

Unfortunately Vermont never got the chance to exist, and Connecticut got to keep its Western Reserve (much to the chagrin of those who got jury duty, the state capital was a long way off). Maine was eventually separated from Massachusetts in order for more Labour representation in the devolved Parliament.

Texas was settled mostly by Germans, and fought for independence from Mexico much the same way. Texas split into a mostly Spanish west, and a mostly German east. The British, in union with the crown of Hanover at the time, didnt mind. It kept the German immigrants out of their territories. The Californians, who had tons of gold money, bought Alaska from the tsar and formed a confederation with Oregon. Panama never broke off from Colombia, since there were no Americans there to nudge it into doing that.

This map shows "M" class Roadways in green, and "A" roads in red. Note that some misspellings are intentional (Atalanta, Cleaveland, etc).

Cool map.  Although, I would've called Jefferson City (if that's Seattle) "Queen City" - one of the older names for that city.
